FAQs

Tour O The Borders 2023

When will all the event details be emailed out?

Detailed information about event (schedule), registration, start times, timing, parking, facilities and more will be sent out to you a week prior to the event. Other information is available on the event website.

Can I cycle with friends?

Yes, just make sure each one of you selects the same estimated completion time on entry and enter the same group name on the SiEntries entry form. We will then do our best to allocate you the same start wave.

Can I take part on an E-bike?

Ebikes, along with handcycles and tandems are all welcome. You can change the type of bike you’ll be taking part on until a week before the event – just let us know by email.

Can I change to the short/long route on the day?

Yes!

If you decide to change route during your ride, you need to inform the marshal situated at the route split. This will be sign posted.

If you don’t make anyone aware, you will probably receive the wrong finishing time!

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All riders must be 16 years or older to take part in Tour O The Borders.

Can I switch from the long to the short route or vice versa?

Yes, but please do so as soon as you can. You have the following options:

  • Up until Friday 29 August 2025, please email us at info@tourotheborders.com and we will sort this for you.
  • After Friday 29 August 2025, speak to us at registration on Saturday 6 September to change; or on the morning of the event, tell us you wish to swap 20 minutes before your start time.

How do I register/get my rider pack & number board?

This is important!

Registration/number board collection will be open on Saturday 6 September, at Tweed Green in Peebles. We’ll be there from 10am-7pm. This is for those who opted for a non-postal entry. A friend or family member can collect your rider pack for you; but they must have your up to date emergency contact details.

For those who opted for a postal entry; you do not need to register on Saturday 6 September as your rider pack will be mailed to you in advance. Please don’t forget it! Just arrive on Sunday 7 September with your number board on your bike and that’s you; ready to ride!

Can I volunteer at the event?

We would love that!

There are lots of opportunities for volunteers to be a part of the action. Course marking, marshalling, registration in the event village or even a day in the office.

If you’re interested in finding out more; email volunteers@tweedlove.com

Our volunteer coordinator will contact you directly with more information and how to sign up.

What's the refund policy?

***Important***

We are now working with XCover and all refund requests must go through them.
Purchasing XCover allows you to protect your entry and receive a full refund of your transaction (entry fees and any extras if bought as part of a package) if you are unable to attend the event due to an unforeseen circumstance  – please see the XCover terms and conditions. If you have any questions about cover then please contact XCover directly.

For XCover refund requests, you first need to activate your XCover Account. If this is your first time logging in to your XCover Account, you first need to find the confirmation email from XCover and click the link to set up your XCover Account. Make sure you check your spam folder if you can’t find your confirmation email in your emails. Once you have set up your XCover Account, you can view your documents and start a claim.

Got a question about XCover?

Visit the XCover Help Centre for answers to many questions. Should you need to, there’s instructions for how to contact the XCover support team.

*  If you are unable to attend the event and did not purchase XCover, no refund will be issued.

*  Sorry we are not currently able to offer ticket deferrals for future editions of Tour O the Borders.
