We’re looking for volunteers to help make Tour O The Borders the very best it can be. Riders often tell us what a difference the Valley Crew make to them with their support throughout the course. It really is true that volunteers help make the event and without volunteers, the event simply couldn’t happen.

So what roles do you have?

We need people to fill every kind of role you can imagine – join the friendliest registration crew or marshal out on the course in a stunning Borders location, hand out medals to riders as they finish & celebrate their achievements! Also essential to the smooth running of the event are communication operators, early morning parking, feed station and vehicle support crews. And if you can’t help on the day itself, we’ll welcome your help with registration on Saturday 5 September and with course marking prior to the event & clear down afterwards too.

What’s the deal?

No experience is necessary, volunteers need to be at least 16 years old. We’ll provide everything you need for the day and free camping. You’ll just need to dress for the weather! If you volunteer for a full day, we can offer you a £35 volunteer expenses payment.

Who’s making it happen?

Our volunteer coordinator Sarah Birks will be looking after all of our volunteers at events & she’s more than happy for you to get in touch with any questions.

We will pay you £35 in expenses (Please note payment will only be due for a minimum four hour shift. For example, if a marshal point is only needed for an hour or two, you will be asked to cover a later marshal point or help in the event village).
